Next Project

I'm hoping to finish up the album of Kevin and I this weekend; maybe today even. It should only be a few more pages. I have two more sets of photos, one of all of us out to dinner, including my sister and mother. The last set is me and the kids at the airport seeing him off. There are three photos for that one I believe. I'll be glad to have that finished and ready to send off. I was stressing over it a bit since it was going to be needed.

Next, I'll be working on the 6x6 album that I was making for my sister. My sister was diagnosed with Breast Cancer a couple of years ago. She was in her mid 40's when she was diagnosed. She was moving and bumped her breast with something. It was sore after that and she had a large knot. I'm thankful that she bumped it that day. It was a large tumor that was in her breast. She was quickly diagnosed and they started her pretty quickly on chemotherapy. Lora was very angry with the world when she got diagnosed. She really didn't want to talk much, so I didn't push it. I just let her talk when she was ready. And I just let her know I was always there for her. She was in a really tough relationship at the time too, with a woman that was very controlling. I can't tell you how happy I am that she isn't with her now. I would go and sit with her during her chemo sessions if I could. I would stay as long as they would allow me until they kicked me out. Treatment was long and hard on my sister. She had a double mastectomy and has had to endure weekly shots. She is an amazing woman; strong and beautiful. I hope she doesn't have to endure what she has gone through again in her life.

Here is the first page of the album I'm going to be working on for her:

I used bazzill, patterned papers that I searched for forever to find.. I had a time a while back finding breast cancer papers. The F is chipboard that I put paper on.. I sanded the edges. The blossoms are Prima. The 'O' in Journey is a ribbon sticker detailed with a pen. Random brads on the flowers and the edge of the pages. And I inked it with pink ink. I don't remember where I got that bling ribbon. I sewed the squares with my sewing machine. I'm ready to get my new sewing machine out this weekend. My old one broke and I bought this new one. I haven't used it yet, so I need to get on that! :)

Thanks for looking at my page. I'm hoping the other pages turn out as nice. I really like how this one turned out. I'm going to put this into the Link Up For Pink - Challenge Number 3. I also added to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge.

Have a great day everyone!

that is a beautiful first page. The sentiment is perfect, and of course the pink and the patchwork is a unique idea that shows all the steps and how everything is interconnected. My prayers for your sister to remain safe and healthy! Thanks for joining us at Link Up For Pink!
