Bucs Matching Card

Good morning everyone.. Happy Wednesday!!  Today I am going to share the matching card that went with the altered canvas that Bailey and I gave to her Lacrosse coach this year. Again, these amazing images were commissioned from YamPuff and she was AMAZING! at creating these. I absolutely LOVE them and so does Bailey :D

So here is the matching card:

For this card I decided on a Stepper. I colored the two images with my Copic markers. I kept with the black, white and red theme of the team. The team is the Allatoona Buccaneers, so I cut the card base, all the paper layers, the flag and the skeleton with the Silhouette. I embossed the red paper behind them. I also cut the A with the Silhouette and added glitter for the black on the A. The Thank You is cut using Sizzlits alphabet. I used some Copic makers to add a bit of detailign to the skeleton pirate. The girls were all colored with Copic and then fussy cut with a small white border around them. I also decorated the inside and had all the girls sign the card before we gave it to her.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20

It's Monday!! How about a new challenge over at Tammy's Scrapin Corner?

Good morning! Yep... another Monday morning!  They come around too quickly!

Today we are on Challenge #71 over at Tammy's Scrapin Corner and the theme this week is Camping! So get your campers, your tents and your s'more's out! I can't wait to see your designs!! My little guy is fishing on his camping trip! :)  Here he is:

I thought I would try out a circle step card. I used a large Spellbinders circle for the card and then a smaller circle and a scalloped circle as well on the larger side. I also used a die to cut around the image and the flowers are dies. I colored the image with Copic. The Camp Out, the fish and the On The Lake tag are all rub-ons. I rubbed them onto cardstock and then fussy cut around the rub-ons. I added some cheesecloth on top of the circle dies and I added several different ribbons along the bottom of the circles. Three pearls to the center of the flowers and that is everything. Oh! and I inked around the image and the flowers. It was a fun card to make!

Bear: E33, E35, E37, E39

Crafting When We Can - Fairytale

Happy Sunday everyone :)  Today begins a new challenge at Crafting When We Can. The theme for the next fortnight is Fairytale!!! What a fun theme! I used "Whispy" from Saturated Canary.

I also used a background image from Make It Crafty - Fern Log Digi Stamp. They have some great background stamps and I thought this one would go just perfect with the fairy!  I colored Whispy with Copic markers and the log and mushrooms were colored with Prismacolor Pencils. I used all cardstock.. wow.. I just realized that LOL  Me... using no patterned paper??  How strange!! LOL I used green pearls, white opal liquid pearls on the mushrooms, Stickles - Frosted Lace on the wings and Walnut Stain Distress Ink. the circles where made with one of my circle punches and then from using a paper folding technique on Desire's Blog - Doing Life. If you click on Tutorials, there are several paper folding tutorials there.. so fun! She is an amazing talent too! I used Tinkerbell as my Fairytale... and in the movie Peter Pan when they try to keep her alive by saying I Do Believe In Fairies... I Do! I Do! .. LOL Whenever one of us says I do.. the rest of us start saying that. We do that a lot with different sayings!!

Skin: E00, E01, E11, R20

Challenge:

Wow.. it's been a busy week. I feel like I have been on the run since Thursday.. Oh wait! I have LOL  That's hard for a person like me that is a complete home body. I like to be home.. just the way I am. But it was a nice Thanksgiving with my sister, my mother and my kids. Just wish Kevin would have been there. We had a good time. We played dominoes for a little while in the evening and then it was time for us to head home. We got to my sisters about 7:30 am and didn't leave until about 7:30 pm. I was exhausted!! And I was glad to get home and crawl into bed.  We went back on Friday and hung out in the afternoon for a bit. We had cake for Michael... He is 14 years old today!!!  Happy Birthday Michael :)  And my sister went in with me and we got him a Nook Tablet. He seemed really happy with his gift. And that's about it. He has requested his very own broccoli casserole LOL!! So, I told him I would make one today for him. That is my thing.. every Thanksgiving and Christmas I have to bring the broccoli casserole!

Kevin's leaves for Sydney in a week for his interview at the Consulate!!! Oh, I am so excited!! I can't believe how close we are!! We should be speaking with the attorney some time this week.. one last go around with him and make sure we have everything in order. I'm praying he will be home in a couple of weeks!!

Off to church soon. I have a meeting before church about Bailey doing some extra things with church. She is going to join the kids choir and be on the media team. I couldn't be happier that she is getting more involved in church. Now what to do with Michael ...

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

Tammy's Scrapin Corner Challenge #25 - Layers!

Good morning everyone! Rise and shine to a new week ahead. Here's to hoping for happy Immigration news this week!! Today begins a new Challenge at Tammy's Scrapin Corner. This challenge is all about layers! You have to have at least two layers on your project. Here is my card using an image from Digi Darla Designs - Fall Kids. I love this image! Hope you enjoy the card.. I had a lot of fun making it.. My first try at a Step Card of any type:

I used random patterned papers and cardstock that I had. The white cardstock that I made the card from came from Michaels. I believe it was Bazzill, but I can't be 100% sure. I printed this image several times and colored them with Copic. I pieced the scarves on both of the kids, I also pieced a lot of the leaves in the different leaf piles. There is a small leaf pile by the boy that you can't see that well. I popped a lot of the floating leaves as well. The tree was hand drawn and cut out of paper. I stitched it with awesome new thread I got .. Sulky .. It is several colors wrapped up in one.. I love it! So this one had black, orange, red, yellow.. just fantastic.. I love how it looks. I popped a lot of things on this card. I tried to remember all of the Copic I used.. here you go:

Challenges:
Yesterday we went to church and it was a glorious service. I know I've said before, but we are really new to this church; only being there about three or four months maybe. Yesterday, they celebrated their 25th Anniversary as a church and 20 years that Mark has been the senior pastor there. The music, the singing, the celebrating was just wonderful. I'm always amazed at the talent there. They had a full band and orchestra.. amazing. The chorus was huge and even had people that had come from out of state to celebrate with them. His sermon was great and really just touched on how society has changed over 25 years. Really makes you sit back and ponder. It was really great. They are also doing a "40 Days of Prayer" United to pray for a great awakening.. which is really what we need in America and all across our great world. So, I picked up a prayer guide and each day, starting on Monday, September 24th and concluding on Friday, November 2nd it gives you a focus for your prayer that day and a scripture. The ending is right before the 2012 Presidential Election. I have really enjoyed being a part of this church and to learn and grow in my spirituality. I have a lot to learn and a lot of growing to do, but each day I am in awe of the glory of our God and the beauty and goodness he has given us. Kevin is such a blessing in my life having shown me the way back to the Lord. I look forward to the day when he is home with us, we are married and truly become a family. I look forward to going to church with him each Sunday and growing with him.

On a side note, there is a wonderful story and giveaway from Keren Tamir. God is so good Keren and may he bless your many days ahead with good health and happiness. Read her story on her blog, Expressing From My Heart and Soul. She is an beautiful soul and just by reading your post you will see what I mean.  And I agree with her.. we need a little more love and caring in this world of ours. Tell someone you love them today.. or show them. God bless you all and have a wonderful week!
