Name That Tune! over at Crafting When You Can

Yes.. It is time to play "Name That Tune!!" LOL That is the theme for our new challenge starting today at Crafting When You Can! Here is my card:

For my Name That Tune Inspiration .... Do You Believe In Magic! I used only cardstock all from my scraps for this creation... red, white and black... Obviously!! LOL I used a sparkly white to print the sentiment on and it didn't print that dark because of the paper. I inked around the edge of the white on the sentiment with Scarlet Colorbox Ink. I used a Memory Box die.. I love it! The sentiment inside and out is here at Sentiment Susan - Magic Is Believing. The image is That's Tragic from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps. I love this magician.. he is just too cute! LOL I colored the image with Copic and I used Diamond Glaze on the glasses.

Copic:
Black: C1, C3, C5, C7, C9
Hair: C1, C3, C5
Red: R24, R27, R29
Pink: R20, R22

So, we will be going at our normal 9 am service! Everything is good here this weekend. I'm not sick and neither is anyone else. Kevin's mouth is all good and he seems to be feeling better all around. And THAT makes me happy :)   I planted my garden this weekend since it warmed up and I'm so glad I was able to get everything in the ground.. everything was looking sad having to stay inside.  I'm so excited for the garden to grow!! Fresh veggies Woot!! hehehe It's so good to be in a house!! I need to take some photos of the garden and inside this room.. I  haven't done that yet! Maybe I'll get that done and posted :)

Alright... Happy Easter!! May your day be blessed!! Have a great day everyone!!!

    Birthday Card For Taylor

This card I made for my oldest daughter. Her boyfriend has a birthday on April 1st and he loves the Joker. So, she asked me to create a card for him. I rounded up this image and colored it and made a card for her to give to him on his birthday. Here is what I came up with:

I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils. I used a couple of different Memory Box dies on the sides. I also used a Tim Holtz Embossing Folder. The Happy Birthday is a stamp from Club Scrap. I used all scrap papers for this card as well.

    Challenges:

I'm going to attempt a good day today! Yesterday and the night before I've dealt with a stomach bug or something. I'm feeling a bit better except for the headache. Have a great day everyone!

DT Day at MelJen's Designs - Box It Up!

Good morning everyone!! Today is my DT Day at Meljen's Designs! And this month we have a Box It Up! Challenge. I have never created a box, so this was definitely a challenge. I had a co worker at work ask me if I would make her a card for her 5th grader. She would be graduating 5th grade this year. So, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to create a box to put the card in. I also wanted to see if I could create a bookmark attached to a card. So, that is what I did. Here is what I came up with:

This is the box, opened up with the card inside.

These two are the box and the card.

Here are different views of the box.

These are the front of the card.

Here is the inside of the card and the bookmark is on the right with the homemade tassle.

And here is the bookmark. I perforated the edge so that it can be torn/cut off and used as a bookmark.

This was really a great challenge. I really enjoyed designing the box, the card and the bookmark. I hope my co worker will like it too for her daughter.

I used Grad Cap and Grats Grad Frame from Meljen's Designs to create the box, the card and the bookmark. I used all kinds of scrap papers that I had left over from back to school items. I also used gems from All That Scraps. I used several die cuts for the card and a Doodlebug stamp for Congrats! I used some eyelets and twine on the box. I used DMC thread to create the tassle on the bookmark. I used a sketch for the card:

This was a really fun project! Thanks for looking and be sure to check out the rest of the teams awesome designs through the month!! :)

Anything But A Card @ Tammy's Scrapin Corner

Good morning everyone!!! Happy Monday :)  Another weekend flies by!! This weekend, Kevin has been suffering with a toothache. And it is on a tooth that he got filled!!  I even took him to the dentist on Friday thinking we would solve it before the weekend, but no such luck. It was waking him during the night... you know that AWFUL pain you get in your mouth and there is just nothing you can do. I felt so bad for him! There was nothing I could do. I have been alternating Tylenol and Advil every four hours to try to help him. He slept for most of the day on Sunday. The dentist opens up at 8:00 am and he will be there first thing! Other than that, I have been working on some items. I am loving decorating the inside of the cards. My next feat is to make envelopes for everything! I really need to do that LOL

So, on to our challenge #55.. this week we have an 'Anything But A Card' challenge at Tammy's Scrapin Corner. I decided to make some bookmarks. My very favorite bookmarks are magnetized bookmarks, so that is exactly what I did. Here are my bookmarks:

I really had fun making these and this was first attempt at a bookmark. I used the AWESOME image from SKDigis - Gus the Bookworm. I used sentiments from Sentimental Susan. I used all scraps for my paper. I loved all these school papers, so it was fun to bring out these scraps :)  I inked the edge of each sentiment. Kevin went out and bought me these small magnetic sheets that I was able to use for the magnets in the middle. These type of bookmarks are hard to find and they have always been my favorite! What better way to get them than to make them yourselves!! LOL I love it! They are cute too :) I colored the image with Copic.

        Challenges:

I hope you all have a wonderful week!!  Hopefully Kevin will be feeling better and the weather will warm up a bit. I'm ready to plant my tomatoes!! LOL Have a good one everyone!!

Oh! Have you all watched "The Bible"? That is what I've been watching for the past five Sundays. It has really been so well done.  Okay.. off to work :)

One Stitch At A Time Challenge #156

Happy Sunday everyone and welcome to a new challenge at One Stitch At A Time Challenge #156 - Use A Digi. Here is my creation for this week:

I was able to use Scarlette - Beary Dust Stamps. I colorized her in Paint Shop Pro and used Copic on her skin and some detailing. I added some gears from a Spellbinder die and swirl from a Memory Box die. The rectangle in the background is also a Spellbinder die as well as the actual card shape. I created the sentiment and you can find it at Sentiment Susan. The edges of some of the paper is distressed. I used embossing powders on the gears to add texture and color. I used black, clear on the brown and gold. It was a fun design.
            Copic:
E000, E00, E01, E11 for her skin and R20 for a little rose color on her cheeks.

            Challenges:

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! The weekend just goes by way too fast! Time to be off to church in a bit. It has been a rainy weekend so far and a bit cool. I can't plant my veggies in the garden yet so I'm having to tend them inside. They go outside when it warms up during the day LOL and then in the bathroom at night. I just need it to stop freezing! :)

              Meljen's Design Challenge #152

Happy Thursday everyone!! This week is a fun challenge at Meljen's Designs. This is Challenge #152 - Itsy, Bitsy (3 x 3). I never knew how much fun a little 3 x 3 card would be to make! I LOVED it!!! I will definitely make some more of these :)  Cute little cards to give to people! So here is my card:

I used the Irish Brew image from Meljen's Designs. I thought it was a very fitting image for a St. Patrick's Day card. I used Copic to color the image. I used some green glitter glue on some parts of the image and Stickles on other parts to add some shine. I inked green around the sentiment. I popped the clover, the foam and then some of the bubbles above the foam to add dimension to the image. I love how it turned out. So simple and small.

              Copic:
              G17, G19, G20, G29
              YG01, YG03, YG06, YG09
              W3, Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17

              Challenges:
I hope you all have a great rest of your week!!

                Tammy's Scrapin Corner Challenge #54

Good morning everyone! Here we are starting a new week. Can you believe it is Monday already? The weekend just flies by.

This is a Eureka image - Draped Cross with Thorns. I thought this was the perfect image for our Easter challenge. I created the sentiment inside and out, you can find it here at Sentimental Susan. I colored the cloth with Prismacolor pencils and the thorns with Copic. I paper pieced some patterned paper (wood grain) for the cross. I used an embossing folder on the white cardstock behind it. The scallops are from a Spellbinder die. I used some white and purple cardstock for this card. I thought the image and the sentiments said it all and I didn't want to make it too complicated or busy.

                Challenges:

This was a good weekend. I just can't believe it is already over. We went to church yesterday for a good sermon. We worked out in the garden and got it all ready to plant; we even planted some onion. I can't plant most of the plants yet, because we are still expecting freezing weather this week. It was a beautiful weekend though.

I believe we are expecting some rain today. I'm going to stop at the gym on my way home to swim. Bailey has an orchestra concert tonight so that is where we will be. And that's about it. Just another day at work :)  I hope you all have a wonderful day/evening!!
