One More Easter

Happy Wednesday! :)  We are halfway through the week! It never seems to go fast enough!! The week drags on and the weekend just flies by! Took Michael to the doctor this morning, took the bike to be dropped off for a recall then it was work work work. Now I'm tired! LOL  Happy day/evening everyone!

Today I'm sharing my third Easter Card with you. Now I have to get busy on some cute Easter Bunny type cards:

For this card I used another cross image that I have no idea who it belongs to. I should have saved a folder with the ones I was using. Although, I think I have them listed at work. I'll have to look. This is another card that I was able to use all scraps. I dug out all of the purple along with my whites and was able to complete this will my scraps! I've distressed the edges of paper, I've inked. The image is colored with my Copic Markers and the dogwood blooms are popped a level. I used an embossing folder on the dark purple paper. A Sentimental Susan image was used for the sentiment. I've used some small dew drops. The flowers at the bottom are all distressed and I've added some purple Stickles. I also used a purple gem for the center.

COPIC MARKERS USED:
  • Flowers: RV32, RV11, RV34
  • Wood: E30, E34, E44, E47
  • Leaves: YG11, YG13, YG17

Easter Card Too

Happy Tuesday everyone! It has been a busy, long week at work and it is only Tuesday!! I have a lot to do and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed.  But.. It will all work out. I'll get caught up. Tomorrow I am taking Michael to get his toe taken care of and working. I've been in bed early and haven't had a lot of Etsy time the last couple of days. I hope you all are having a great week!

And today I'm going to share another Easter card. This one I did in blue:

This is my Easter Card using Roses Cross from Delicious Doodles. I have used my Copic Markers to color the image. I've added a bit of clear Wink Of Stella and I've popped the roses and leaves. That is a bit of fussy cutting :)  For this card I went back into the scraps box and pulled out all the scraps of blue. I love being able to use scraps up! I've used some flowers and dew drops. I've also used some die cuts, embossing powder, embossing folder. I've done a small bit of stitching. The Happy Easter is stamped. I've inked a bit of paper with black and some with blue. I also used some vines that I cut a piece off of. The inside has a printed quote and I also added some dew drops to it as well.

COPIC MARKERS USED:
  • Wood: E30, E24, E44, E47
  • Cross Edge: Y00, Y11, Y15, YR23, YR24

Thinking of Easter

With thoughts of my Etsy Shop and trying to build it up, I had the idea that I needed to get busy on some Easter cards. I'm trying to think ahead. I need St. Patty's Day and I need Easter. And if I'm going to put this work into the shop, I better get the correct items in there, right? So, that is what I have started working on. I've made a few Easter cards. I started out with some Religious Easter cards; the true reason for the season. I'm also going to do some cute bunny cards as well. So, I thought I would share my first Easter creation with all of you today:

For my first card I went with this beautiful cross. I have no idea who's it is. I have to go through my images to figure it out. It is a pretty simple cross and I used my Copic Markers to color in the leaves and flowers on the cross. I fussy cut the cross of course and popped it up one level. I dug out all my scraps and this card is all scraps! I went with purple, black and white. The bottoms were all cut with an edge punch. The black paper behind was embossed with an embossing folder. I added some stitching and some ribbon. The Psalm 97:1 was designed and printed and then I added some small dew drops onto them. I also printed the Happy Easter on the inside and added some dew drops there as well as some of the ribbon.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi Everyone! And I hope you all have had a very Happy Valentine's Day!! I have spent the day with my wonderful husband. I got him a new Kindle, because he needed one! :)  And we went out and had lunch. Other than that we have just hung out at home together. And for us .. that is perfection!

What else has we been up to? The kids are out of school next week. Michael has been working. He also has another ingrown toenail. I have a feeling we will end up at the doctor again for that. He was soaking it this morning, but he couldn't get it cut. He is wanting to wait it out, because he knows it will hurt when they cut it. Bailey helped Kevin and I shovel some crush and run yesterday. We put that in the bike port and the walkway to the house. We also filled up the spots in the driveway that are broken. I think it will take some time to settle and dry out, but I think it will be well worth it. It is much better than the mud that we had. Today, she has gone to spend a couple of days with a friend.

Tomorrow it is back to work and Kevin has an Ultrasound. The weekend has just flown by so quickly! Now, I wanted to share a card with you. This was my first custom order on Etsy. I had someone purchase a card and then ask if I would make her daughter a custom card for her boyfriend for Valentine's Day. She calls him Peach Butt and wanted it to say Happy Valentine's Day Peach Butt. So, with that in mind, this is what I came up with:

For this custom card I created a Peach shape to cut with the Silhouette Cameo. I was able to use scraps for this card! I'm really digging into them. I inked it all up with my Distress Inks to give it that peach flavor :)  I cute the leaves with some die cuts on some embossed paper, stamped the Happy Valentine's Day. Peach Butt was cut with one of my Sizzlit letters and the hearts are a Memory Box die. The little peach is an emoticon that she wanted me to use. The red glitter circles are stickers. And that is it! I had a lot of fun making this unique card! I hope I can have some custom orders again :)

It's All About Love At Open-Minded Crafting Fun

Good morning everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend!! My daughter had her second eye surgery yesterday. It is a laser surgery, so it is a really quick surgery.

Today is the 10th, which means it is time for the next challenge at Open-Minded Crafting Fun. And that is what my post is all about today. All About Love doesn't have to be Valentine's, it can be anything about love. How about a wedding card or an anniversary? I know I never seem to hang on to Anniversary cards. Our sponsors for our February Challenge - All About Love are:

And now for my card:

For this card I have used Cupido from Zuri Artsy Craftsy. I've colored this cute little Cupid with my Copic Markers and I've made this box card, which was cut with the Silhouette Cameo. All of the papers are scraps. I've used some negative heart cuts from another die edge that I cut for a different card. I've added some dew drop and gems to the box as well. The XO is covered in gold glitter. The wings of Cupid are covered in clear Wink of Stella. The hearts, lips and mustache are all inked with distress ink; as is the red card stock of the card base. This is my 2nd card box. This one came a bit easier than the first I think. I will definitely try a couple more of these. I think they are really fun!

Chinese New Year Child's Card

Good morning everyone! It is Sunday... I can't believe how quickly the weekend goes by! It is here and then it is gone! And tomorrow it is back to work already. I don't even feel like I got a break! Tonight, Bailey comes home from camp and I'm pretty sure Michael works this afternoon, but I'm not sure what time. I received my first request on Etsy for a Valentine's card this morning. So, today I will be working hard to get that finished. I'll make that one and ship it out with the other one she bought. So excited! All the work I'm putting into Etsy is definitely paying off :)  Yay!

Here is my 2nd custom ordered Chinese New Year Card. This one is for the baby daughter :)

I used all scrap paper. I cut the black wth the Silhouette Cameo. I added some twine and some dew drops. The little monkey was a free coloring image found online that I printed and colored with Copic Markers. I did pop his little head up and put it on a wobble. I thought... what is better for a small child than a wobble! :D  I stamped the Happy New Year and attached it with a black brad. And that is it! I was able to use all scraps for both of the cards for her which is a real bonus! I love being able to use my scraps up and I'm trying really hard to do that!

Copic Markers Used:
  • Cheeks: R20, R22
  • Vines: YG11, YG13, YG17
  • Mouth: R56, R59
  • Dark Brown: E23, E25, E27, E29

Year of the Monkey

Hi everyone! And a very happy Saturday evening :)  Today has been a day full of working on Etsy and running around with my hubby. We did a bit of shopping today at Goodwill. I love finding items there to help with altering and such! I found quite a bit to work with! It was a great visit there! Then from there we went to computer store. Hubby had dropped off Bailey's laptop for them to work on. He wanted to make sure it would be finished by Monday. Then it was off to the Dollar Store to look around. We picked up a few things there and then I headed to Michael's to pick up a few things. I did Etsy promoting before we left and then I did more when I got home. I have spent a ton of time promoting, but I think it is helping, so I will stick with it. I might have to cut down a bit hahaha! but I'll continue at it though!  Later on in the afternoon I had to take Michael to work and then Kevin and I stopped to pick up Chinese for dinner for us. I came home and did a bit more Etsy promotion and then cleaned up my desk. It has been a mess since I worked on my last couple of cards.

Bailey has been out this weekend at a Church Camp. She will be coming home tomorrow. And then it is back to work and school for everyone! Taylor has her other eye surgery on Tuesday. Bailey has Goalie practice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday early morning. Then she has practice after school each day as well.

Okay... onto my card. I had a friend at work place a custom order with me for two Chinese New Year cards. One was for her best friend and the other was for her bet friends little girl. So, I wanted to make a nice, more elegant card for her friend, which I will post today. Then for the other I wanted to make something that was more for a child. I will try to post that tomorrow.

Here is the first card:

So, I wanted to try to go for something a bit elegant and adult. I inked the background with distress ink on the inside and the outside. I used a lot of glitter markers along the black and opaque white markers for the white and the sparkles. I used Copic Markers to color the lanterns and the flowers. I di pop the flowers, the leaves, the flowers to give the card a bit of dimension. The little monkeys I also popped for dimension. I added a few gems/rhinestones to add a bit more sparkle to it. I also added some gems/rhinestones to the inside as well. I was able to use scraps on both of these cards that I made for her too! And this was created for her best friend. I really hope she likes it!

Copic Markers Used:
  • Yellow Lanterns and Flowers: Y11, Y15, YR23
  • Green Lantern: G12, G14, G16

Cute As A Button Guest Designer

Good morning everyone! It has been a hectic couple of weeks. I'm not feeling all that great for the past couple of days. I think I may be fighting the ick that my son has; He has strep throat. I took him to the doctor on Friday to get that figured out and him on antibiotics. And my 17 year old son who doesn't really like to hang around us decides to get himself all comfy on the couch near Kevin and I with his blowing of nose and coughing!  What the heck! LOL  So.. I think my body is trying its best to fight off whatever it is trying to fight off. My throat is sore a bit... but my body must be working in overdrive, because it doesn't seem to be getting worse. I do feel a bit run down, but not overly. I'll be good! Having to take care of the sick, boy/man strep ridden 17 year old didn't help I'm sure! You know... he had strep 10 times worse than anyone else would have. It was tired from walking up the stairs, needed mom to poor the medicine... You know... that sort of thing LOL  Then, my daughter and I worked one of the two concession stand jobs that I have to do this year with her in Lacrosse. Nothing like paying out of the nose to play lacrosse and then she is a goalie, so we had to pay out of the nose to get goalie gear for her and then I have to work two concession stands too!  No breaks for a goalie!! Last night her and I watched the All Star National Hockey League games; That was fun! Anyway!! I'm back at work... hoping the week will go smoothly!

I spent my weekend taking care of him, but trying to get this done for Cute As A Button and then finish up two Chinese New Year cards for someone at work. So, I managed to finish everything I needed to yesterday, but then this post got delayed. So, here I am this morning trying to get it up :)

I hope you all are well and healthy and had a great weekend! The weather was beautiful here! Although, I think we have some storms headed this way!  Have a great Monday and week ahead everyone!

So, this was created for my Guest Design Spot at Cute As A Button -- Thank you so much Francesca!! It was truly an honor to be able to work with your image. Thank you!! The theme for this challenge is Shabby Chic and well.... I immediately go into panic mode!! I have no idea what Shabby Chic is really... but I wing it and try to do my best LOL!  I decided to do something different with this one. I have used "Jester" from Cute As A Button.  I've colored her with my Copic Markers and done a small bit of layering on the image. I have used a Canvas to create this little piece of art. It is a 5 x 7 canvas and I've painted by sponging on pink acrylic paint and then sparsely sponging some white paint over the pink. Then I used gold and pink texture paste with two different stencils. The gold you can see a bit on the bottom corner and the pink is the dots you can see in the upper corner. I used some vellum that I tore the edges  and some patterned paper that I distressed the edges. I added some off white lace to the side and then added some different flowers. I added some pink pearl strands and some ribbon around the flower spray on the side to finish it off.  I think it kind of comes off to whatever I think Shabby Chic is LOL  This is probably the closest I've come to creating something shabby chic! And I really enjoyed working with a canvas and creating a mixed media creation. I had a lot of fun with it.
