Meljen's Challenge #199.

Good morning everyone! Today I'm going to post for Meljens Challenge, but I'm also asking for prayers. Kevin's nephew, Kyle Coleman, has gone missing in the Mt. Isa area in Australia. He has been missing since 6 am on February 22nd. They have been doing extensive searches for him. And yet... there is no sign of him. He was said to have been leaving Soldiers Hill at 6 am on Saturday on his way home to Parkside only 3 km away. Please say a prayer for him, his mother and father, siblings and all his family and friends.

Today is Challenge #199 at Meljen's!! This week is a sketch challenge and here is the sketch:

And here is what I came up using the sketch:

For this card I used two images from Meljens Designs. I used the new Cool Snowboarder as well as Twin Star String. I printed each several times for different reasons LOL I used a lot of the stars around the card and for the Cool Snowboarder, guess what I did? LOL I decoupaged the image. I colored the images with my Copic Markers. I used a Spellbinders circle die for the circle. I used a die for small circles which I cut out the inside of to make the Olympic Rings. I added different colors of glitter to each of those to make those rings sparkle. I'm pretty sure the paper was Pebbles Inc., but I'm not 100% sure. I distressed the edges of the patterned paper and I stitched the top rectangle layer. I added the snow corner die cut that I cut on vellum. I was trying to add a little something winter. I typed the sentiment. The Twin Stars String was cut from several prints and used on both the front and the inside of the card. I also added some diamond glaze to the goggles to give it a little bit of shine like glass.

Copic:
  • Cool Snowboarder Blue: B21, B23, B18
  • Cool Snowboarder Red: R35, R27, R56
  • Cool Snowboarder Skin: E000, E00, E02, E11
  • Cool Snowboarder Hair: E42, E44, E47, E59
  • Twin Star String Yellow: Y00, Y11, Y15, YR24

Good morning everyone!! Today is our midway point for Challenge #4 at Open-Minded Crafting Fun! Our theme for this challenge is Monochrome and I have chosen to use pinks. Here is my card:

The image that I used is from our wonderful sponsor Di's Digi Stamps and the image is Teddy Rose. I colored the image with my Copic markers. I decoupaged the front arm and the flowers. The pink background was dry embossed. The squares are Spellbinders die cuts. I added the ribbon and the gem swirl. The sentiment is stamped. The inside was punched with a heart border and then layered. I used the negative punches from the edge and placed that above the cut edges.

I used Copic to color this image. I used Spellbinders Dies. The sentiment is stamped and then embossed with white. I also added some embossing enamel to parts of the card. The body is popped up a level and then one more level for the hand, the arm, the front leg and the flowers. I dry embossed black for the inside and added the twine and charm to finish it off. I have colored all of the image except for the heart with Copic. The heart is colored with Prismacolor Pencils. I punched the border of the white paper and placed the pink cardstock behind it. I added the larger brads to the sides of the sentiment.. which I did myself and printed. I laced the twine and added the XOXO brad above that. I also added a charm to the twine. I finished off by adding the small brads to the bottom of the image. I once again decoupaged the image. I popped the cat one layer and then the girl two layers. My DT Day at Meljens Designs!!!.

I'm so happy to have my DT Day today!!!  I hope you all are having a wonderful day!!  My boss told me weeks ago that I needed to make more Mother's Day cards. She said that Mother's Day was the biggest card giving day of the year. I had no idea!!  I started thinking about it and decided to make a Mother's Day card and what better than to use a Meljens image!!!  She has some of the most fantastic mother images!! I decided to use the Momma Roo for this one! I've used Mamma Whale for a Mother's Day card previously!! :)  So, with that said.. here is my card:

The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils. I decoupaged her feet, front arm, pouch, bow and the hearts. I added the flowers that I layered, black pearls to the center of those, the pearl swirls and the lace with the pearls threaded through it. I also added smaller swirls on the inside. I love this image :) I hope you like it too!!
