Boo!.

Hey everyone!  I hope you all have had a great weekend! Be sure to go over to Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges - the new challenge blog on the block!! All of the sponsors are being spotlighted. The DT Call goes live on November 1st! And the first challenge will be January 4th!! It's going to be loads of fun!!

I've spent the last week and a half coloring! I've has all these images printed up on watercolor and art paper. They have just been sitting there for probably a year! So, those are the images I've been coloring up. I needed to get them colored with my Prismacolor. I've managed to get them all finished up and ready to go on a card. I worked today trying to get some cards finished. I only managed to get three (3) done LOL!! So sad! Here is one of them:

This is one of those images that I had printed out for ages! I colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils and I used my Gamsol with my pencils. I love the look that it gives you. Really gives me the ability to smooth out the pencil and shade how I want to. This is a Wee Stamps image.. I just love her images so much!! I popped the front bat. The paper is from a Bo Bunny 6x6 pad - Fright Delight Collection. The cardstock is just from my scraps. I added the Boo ribbon, the B-O-O and jack'o lanterns are buttons that I removed the back off of. I've had the ribbon and the buttons forever!! Probably a good 12 years LOL!!  So sad!  I added some yellow stickles to the yes and nose of the big jack'o lantern. The inside is decorated with the same paper and scrap cardstock.

Open-Minded Spotlight on 2 Cute Ink!!

Good morning everyone!! I have had a busy week! There is a lot to do at work, but Vicky and I have also been spending a lot of time working on Open-Minded Crafting Fun! I hope you will go check it out! For the next while we will be spotlighting all of our amazing sponsors over there! Today we have the spotlight on 2 Cute Ink!!  There is only a little over a week left before we post the DT Call over there! We will be posting that on November 1st! All in anticipation of our opening challenge on January 4th! :)  We are really excited and I hope we can get all of you as excited as well!!

So, what have you been up to.. let's see.. I have spent a lot of time coloring! I had a ton of images that were printed on paper that I couldn't really use my copics, so I have spent the past week or so coloring all these images up with my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol!! I have a ton of images all colored, glittered, decoupaged LOL and ready to put on a card! I'm trying to finish up the stack I have! I think I only have a few more to go! And then I'm going to start putting them on cards! I have had this stack for a while, so it feels great to get them colored! The kids continue to keep me running.. and last night we had a drama play open so I had to work that. They are running it tonight too, so I will be there again. Then they are competing on Saturday with the production.. I don't have to work for that LOL! I'm hoping to not do much this weekend but color and create!

Alright.. have a GREAT DAY everyone!! And be sure to hop over to Open-Minded Crafting Fun to see what is happening as Vicky and I begin our new adventure over there!! Tune in each day for another sponsor to be highlighted.. It has been a LOT of fun learning about the artists and I hope you enjoy it as much as we have!!!

Thursday with Meljen's!!.

Good morning everyone!! I can't believe it's finally Thursday! The week has been slow LOL! Let's see... this has been a pretty good week. Bailey had a couple of meetings in the morning, she had a Chorus Concert on Tuesday evening.. a really LONG Chorus Concert! It was a bit much.. an hour and a half! On Wednesday evening the kids went to the church. I think that is it? Nope... Thursday is a meeting at the High School for Drama and then they want to volunteer at the Elementary School next to us for their Fall Festival on Friday, but they can walk there.. it's that close. I was going to say this was a quiet week, but not so much! LOL

Yesterday afternoon someone tried to break into our house. They tried to kick in the door at the front of the house in the carport area. They smashed up the door and frame, but didn't break through the chain. Something must have scared them off or something. Really gets you thinking though! Makes you a bit nervous!

And what else... Kevin's tooth started aching today. I need to send him to the dentist tomorrow. They "fixed" that tooth! but it keeps giving him issues. Hopefully, he will do what he is told and go! He is stubborn though LOL!

Vicky Fortier and myself are opening a new challenge blog - Open-Minded Crafting Fun. That is where most of my focus has been this week.. working on the graphics for the site, getting the sponsors together and us just planning things out :)  I'm really excited! It's going to be a lot of fun! Especially since we are so similar in our views... No stress.. No drama.. Just have fun :)  It's going to be great!  Meljen's is one of sponsors... Of course I'm excited about that! I hope you all will join us!!

Today we begin a new challenge at Meljen's Designs!! Today we have Challenge #182 - Peek A Boo (Hidden Element)! How fun!! I had so much fun with the images I was using I made a set - a birthday card and for my hidden element I made an invitation!  The card is just a bonus item... no hidden element on it - I just couldn't resist the images!! LOL

For the challenge, here is my hidden piece:

I used the Pirate Polly and Treasure Map on this invitation. It is ATC size and I made the little envelope for it. I stamped the Date, Time, Place RSVP with one of my Stampin' Up stamps. I colored the images with Copic. I tried to get the dimensional view so you could see how I popped Polly. All scraps were used and some old fibers that I had. The small piece in the background was sprayed with water so I could get a really good crinkle and then I burned the edges. That's it for my hidden piece! I would have loved an invitation like that!! LOL

Challenges:
Here is the extra... the card that I made. No hidden object on this, just wanted to make the pair with the awesome images!!

For this one I used Pirate Johnny and again I used the Treasure Map. I popped Johnny a little. I did the same to the paper behind by spraying it with water to get that really good wrinkliness (new word - LOL!) and I burned the edges. I distressed the edges of the black paper and I inked the card paper. The inside of the card I used Ocean Floor Background and I popped ;the sand. I did the same with the printed sentiment by burning the edges.. I didn't wrinkle that one. And there you have a card with an invitation too. I can't wait to see what kind of hidden items you guys come up with!!!  Let's see them!! :)
