Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge #6 - Seasons/Holidays

Good morning!! Happy 10th of the month!!  Today is a new challenge over at Open-Minded Crafting Fun. We are on Challenge #6, which has a theme of Seasons/Holidays. You can create anything for any holiday or any season. I can't wait to see what everyone creates! We will hopefully have a wide variety of items!

Our wonderful sponsors for June are:

We love our sponsors!! Please sure to show them the love!! They are so appreciated for all they do! Thank you!!

This challenge was a perfect excuse to create a Christmas card :)  So, that is exactly what I did:

For this one I started with my image from DigiStamps4Joy - Nativity Globe. The image was colored using Copic Markers. I did a bit of layering as well. I wanted to create a shaker with it, but then what to do with the shaker. I decided to put it on an easel card. The background of the globe image was created using Distress Ink. I created the snow flakes using Copic Opaque White. I've added some seed beads, star sequins and gold and white sequins on the inside of the shaker. I used some Wink of Stella on the star at the top. I've used all paper scraps. The metal tag says Merry Christmas and I've used some Alcohol inks to color it. I have also added some doodling on the bottom panel. I also doodled "a Savior is Born".  I also added a couple of rhinestone stars there as well. There are some stickers on the sides - the cross and the poinsettia. I added a bit of ribbon as well.

Copic Markers Used:
    • Manger: E31, E35, E37
    • Hay: Y00, Y21, Y32

Alright...here is my project for "Luck"!

I have used the image Tinkles from our wonderful sponsor Make It Crafty! I colored her up with my Copic Markers and I did a little bit of layering on her. I added a bit of gold glitter around the edges of the bells. I also used some Opaque White to do some highlights on her. I used all scraps for this card. Still trying hard to use my scraps and get through some this year. The circle die is a My Favorite Thing stitched circle. I added some dry embossing to the two different shades of green strips across the middle. The clover is a Sizzix die that I cut three times with two shades of green and a clover patterned paper scrap in my scrap box. The tag is also a Sizzix die. The sentiment, 'Good Luck', is from Paper Smooches. I stamped it three times on the little tag and it is hidden behind the circle. I took a photo of the front with it tucked in and then one with it pulled out. I added a bit of white sparkle fiber and a horseshoe charm at the top and then added some green gems. She is a fun little elf! I had a blast coloring her up green to match the papers and the luck theme!

  • Mouth: R56
  • Cheeks: R22

I popped part of Lucy Loo Cheshire Cat and the arrows on the tree. I added the fibers, the layers of die cut edged papers at the bottom and the random sequins. I also did some purple and pink embossing around the edge of the image as a frame. On the inside I used most of what I used on the outside as well.

Here is what I have come up with using an image from A Day For Daisies:

For this post I've used Blessing A Flower Fairy from A Day For Daisies. I colored her with my Copic markers. I've added white glitter to her wings. I cut a large hole in the center of the card and added the pink paper behind it. I cut the die using a scalloped circle die. I added the die cut leaves and swirls and then added the flowers on top of those. I then added some gems around and the metal corners. I stamped the Thank You. I did just a small amount of decoupage on this. I popped the top of the flower, the leaf and fairy and her front wing. On the inside I used some additional swirls with gems. And that circle that I cut out from the front... well.. I used that on the inside :)

Good morning everyone! Today is Saturday, which means something is happening at Open-Minded Crafting Fun. Today is our midway mark for Challenge #16 - Summer Food. We have some AMAZING sponsors! Please be sure to give them some love. They really make our challenge great! Along with all of you that play along :)

Here is what I created:

I used the image Lemons from Oak Pond Creations. I thought it was a perfect way to make a summery card.I created the sentiment, When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade. The image is colored with my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. I decoupaged the top two lemons. The rectangle stamp die cut is My Favorite Things and the oval is Spellbinders. I added the little flowers and the sequins. I inked the inside edge of the rectangle die cut with the yellow ink by leaving the die cut attached to the paper.  Well.. that's it from me! I can't wait to the rest of the amazing creations you guys enter. There are already some amazing projects!!!
