I have created a couple of items for this challenge. Here is my second creation ... choosing to go Ausmerican with this one.. a mix of Aussie and American :)  For my hubby and I:

I went with the Australian Sporting colors of Yellow and Green and the American Red, White and Blue. I have used Sea Serpent and Mermaid from Keyesays Visual Art. I colored the image with Copic Markers. The card and all the die cuts inside where all cut using the Silhouette Cameo. The card is an Accordian Fold Card. The background behind the image.. the water.. was done using watercolors. I have used chalk on the Sand Dollar, the shell, the seaweed and the bubbles to add a bit of detailing to it. I've also added Diamond Glaze to the bubbles so they really appear to be water drops. I've added some gems around the image on the inside. The papers are from a stack. I love how this turned out. Thanks for looking!

I have created a couple of items for this challenge. Here is my first creation ... choosing to go all out Patriotic with this one:

I created this Cascade Card using Lunastria The Faerie from Keyesays Visual Art. I love this fairy and I went and made her all patriotic :) I have used Copic Markers to color her and I've also used some Opaque White on her. She is layered a little bit as well. All of the cuts for the Cascade Card were cut using the Silhouette Cameo. I've used a lot of cardstock and a bit of scrap pieces of patterned paper. The "july" and "firecracker" are the patterned paper. On both of these words I also covered them with Diamond Glaze to give them a nice puffy shine. I love Diamond Glaze! I've also used glitter on the 4th and on the fireworks at the top.

Copic Markers Used:
    • Dress: B21, B24, B29
    • Wings and Red on Dress: R22, R24, R46

Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge #6 - Seasons/Holidays

Good morning!! Happy 10th of the month!!  Today is a new challenge over at Open-Minded Crafting Fun. We are on Challenge #6, which has a theme of Seasons/Holidays. You can create anything for any holiday or any season. I can't wait to see what everyone creates! We will hopefully have a wide variety of items!

Our wonderful sponsors for June are:

We love our sponsors!! Please sure to show them the love!! They are so appreciated for all they do! Thank you!!

This challenge was a perfect excuse to create a Christmas card :)  So, that is exactly what I did:

For this one I started with my image from DigiStamps4Joy - Nativity Globe. The image was colored using Copic Markers. I did a bit of layering as well. I wanted to create a shaker with it, but then what to do with the shaker. I decided to put it on an easel card. The background of the globe image was created using Distress Ink. I created the snow flakes using Copic Opaque White. I've added some seed beads, star sequins and gold and white sequins on the inside of the shaker. I used some Wink of Stella on the star at the top. I've used all paper scraps. The metal tag says Merry Christmas and I've used some Alcohol inks to color it. I have also added some doodling on the bottom panel. I also doodled "a Savior is Born".  I also added a couple of rhinestone stars there as well. There are some stickers on the sides - the cross and the poinsettia. I added a bit of ribbon as well.

Copic Markers Used:
    • Manger: E31, E35, E37
    • Hay: Y00, Y21, Y32
    • Skin: E000, E00, E01, E02, E11
    • Blanket: E0000, E000, E02
    • Star: Y00, Y11, Y15, Y19
    • Base & Globe: Y00, Y11, Y15, Y19, YR23

Happy Father's Day Box Card

Good morning everyone!! It is only Tuesday and it has been one heck of a week so far LOL!!!  I keep telling myself if can only get better, it can only get better, it can only get better! HAHA!  And the Lord only gives me what I can handle! So I can persist, carry on and do my best :) And that is all I can do!

So, here is a card I finished up this weekend:

For this card I've used All Tied Up from QKR Stampede. He is colored with Copic Markers and layered a bit. All of the cuts are done using the Silhouette Cameo. I've used black and brown card stock and a bit of striped patterned paper scraps for those stars. Even the Happy Father's Day is a bit tan, although it looks white on here. I've inked all of the papers too with black ink. I've added some brown glitter to the Father's insert. I love how the back of the card is decorated and cut to allow for writing. I thought that was just perfect! And that is it... simple card, but a box card. Thanks for looking!

Copic Markers Used:
  • Bear: E31, E35, E37, E39
  • Checkered Tie: Y00, Y11, Y15
  • Light Blue Tie: B0000, B000, B00, B02
  • Dark Blue Tie: B26, B29, B39
  • Striped Tie: R24, R29, R46

In Memory Poppies Easel

Good evening everyone!!  I hope you are all well!!  Just life happening here.Work has been a real challenge lately and that will continue. I'm just doing what I can and the best I can and that is all I can do. So that is that! haha!! I have been trying to spend my weekends and evenings crafting. Sometimes that works and other times it just doesn't. Like last night... hubby wanted to watch a movie with me .. Risen. He wanted me to spend time with him hehehe!!  So, I turned off the pc... gave up on crafting last night and just spent time with him and watching the movie. The movie was really great too.

What else.. the kids have been out of school for a bit. I took Michael up to Dahlonega to stay with Taylor, my oldest daughter, for the summer. My youngest just goes out every day all day!! To the pool, to friends houses. She doesn't ever want to be home.

And that is what is going on in the Kennedy household right now. I'm watching The Stanley Cup Finals and rooting on the Pittsburgh Penguins. And they are up by two games... woohoo! I have always been taken with goalies.. and right now I am loving Matt Murray. He is a rookie goalie for the Penguins and I just think he is magnificent! He will have a great career ahead of him. So... that is who I am rooting for! I hope he takes it home. Although I was really surprised that they started Murray since their goalie is healed, healthy and ready to play. I love hockey! And I'm enjoying watching them play!

Okay.. enough of my rambling.. Onto my card for today:

I have used a Delicious Doodles image - Remembrance. I colored the image with my Prismacolor Pencils. I then cut around it with a My Favorite Things die. The background was done using pastels. I have done a bit of layering on the image as well. I decided to create an easel card with this image. All of the pieces were cut using the Silhouette Cameo. I have managed to use a host of scrap papers for this! I am still trying to get rid of some of my scraps! I've used a bit of ink around the kraft pieces and the light blue paper. I also added some large black pearls to the top of the easel where the image resides. I added the poppy flowers at the bottom and also added a "deepest Sympathy" stamp at the bottom. There are also a couple of the large black pearls added to the bottom to tie it all in.
