Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge #11 - Christmas / Hanukkah

Good evening everyone! I am a bit behind getting my project posted. My hubby just had surgery. He had both wrists done for Carpal Tunnel and his trigger finger fixed as well. I've been playing nurse :)  So! I apologize for posting late and I hope to see you joining in on our challenge :)

We have some fantastic sponsors for November!

We want to thank all of our sponsors for their generosity. Thank you so very much.. you are so appreciated! Be sure to visit their shops!

Here is my project for our November Challenge:

For this card I have used 'Pulling Down The Christmas Tree' from Knitty Kitty Digis. I've used my Copic Markers to color up this image. I've used some foam tape to pop up the different levels of the tree. The Merry Christmas is die cut and I've added a few gems. I've also added a bit of Wink Of Stella around the tree. I had a lot of fun coloring all the different kittens! On the inside I used a corner die.

Easter Bunny Drawn With Character

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I'm sharing just another Easter card with you:

This was another unique fold. Another cut from the Silhouette Cameo. I thought it was a pretty fun cut. I always take and make some changes or additions usually, to these cuts. For this one I've added an extra cut to the inside to add a bit. I've done a lot of stitching around the different folds ont his one. I've used some chalk on the pink eggs and the purple to add some detailing to the edges. I've added some diamond glaze on the purple over the egg and the drips of purple on the card. I've added some gens and dew drops as well. You can see the chalk on the larger pink egg on the inside better. The image is from Drawn With Character and I've popped the image a bit. Love that little guy :) He was colored with Copic Markers.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Bunny Fur: C00, C1, C3

Last Card from my Set of 5 Valentine's

Good afternoon or later in the morning rather! It has been a great day... just like I wanted. Cold and staying inside crafting. You can't ask for a better day! And I'm hoping the evening will continue the same! Michael has to work tonight, so I'm hoping the roads will be clear and he won't have any issues. That is it for us!! And here is my next and last of the set of five cards.

This is my last card in the set of five that I have listed on Etsy:

And here is the Set of Five Cards

For this card I have used another little monster from Valentine's Fuzzy Monsters from Drawn With Character. I've done juts a bit of layering and I've colored him with my Copic markers. I've added just a bit of Wink of Stella on his antennae. I've done just a bit of distressing on the white papers. I was so happy to use up a bit of scraps on these cards.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Yellow: Y00, Y11, Y15, YR23
  • Red: R43, R46, R56
  • Tongue: R20, R22

Another Valentine's from My Set of 5

Good morning everyone!! This morning we have a little snow... very little snow, but snow none the less :)  And it's nice and cold outside! I'm hoping to just hang out inside and craft today. I'll do a little work on Etsy, get some coloring done :)  This will be a great day if it goes as planned!

Kevin and I woke up at 3 am and Kevin couldn't fall back asleep. He is tired now so I have been telling him to go back to sleep while he can. So what does he do? He makes a coffee LOL I'm sure he will go lay down soon. Me... I just got up and its time to get to work. I'll log into Etsy and do some stuff there and then start coloring. I hope you all stay warm and have a great weekend!

Here is my 4th card from my set of five that I have up on Etsy:

This is another card using a Drawn With Character image :)  This is I'm Nuts About You. I've used my Copic markers to color him. I've managed to use all scraps for all of these cards. I have a ton of scraps though.. so that isn't a hard thing to do LOL I added some in and dew drops. I did layer the nut a little. I also inked the edges around the sentiment and the inside kraft paper as well.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Nut: E30, E31, E33
  • Legs and Arms: C5, C9

One More Valetine's for Today

I wanted to get one more Valentine's card posted today. I'm watching the news, watch the birds eating the seed I refilled and watching for snow. We had a little snow shower... where is all the snow!! :D  I want snow LOL!! That will be it tonight. I'm going to get this post posted, do some work on Etsy and hopefully get some coloring done too! :)  Oh... and watch for snow! LOL

Alright... on to the second Valentine's card for today.. the third card in my set of five listed on Etsy :)

For this little pink and black Valentine's I used one of the monsters in the Valentine's Fuzzy Monster Set at Drawn With Character. I did a bit of layering on the image. I colored with my Copic markers. I've used some embossing on the inside and outside and some die cut hearts. Just a bit of patterned paper from my scrap stash. I also added a bit of twine. The sentiment was created, printed and then inked around the edges. I used a bit of Wink of Stella on the antennae.

Valentine's Kitty

Hi everyone!! We are bracing for the winter storm here in Georgia. I'm really not expecting that we will get anything at all, but we will see. North Carolina and Tennessee are getting it! I wish we would get it here! I want snow!! I went into work this morning and got some stuff done that I needed to be there to do. Then I headed home with the rest of my work. I didn't want to get in the mess of the Atlanta panic once it hits. And the kids get out two hours early, so that won't help the traffic. Now I am home, nice and warm. I have all my work to get to, but I wanted to have a bit of lunch first before I got started again.  So, here I sit eating and blogging.

I wanted to share my second Valentine's card that is in that set of five that I have made. Here it is:

This little 3 x 3 is the second in my set of five Valentine's cards that I put on Etsy. This one is using Love You Kitten from Gerda Steiner. I thought this little kitten was perfect for a Valentine's card. I decided to make him a calico :)  I colored him with my Copic markers. I've done a bit of layering on him. I've added some clear Wink of Stella on his little red heart that he is holding. I used card stock and a bit of patterned paper for this card. The two circles are die cuts and I've also added some stitching and pearls. The little heart is from Drawn With Character. it was a set of hearts and I have used those hearts on several different cards. For the sentiment I've used my Silhouette Cameo to cut it out and then I used that as a stencil. I used black ink and added a little bit of white opaque marker to fill in the holey spots in the letters. I cut a couple more die cuts for the inside and that was it. Oh! I used a bit of Chalk Marker, red, to color in some of the small hearts around the black circle under the kitten.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Black: C3, C5, C7, C9
  • Orange: YR12, YR15, YR14
  • Paw Pads and Ears: R20, R22
  • Heart: R20, R22, R24, R29, R59

Valentine's Cards Coming!

Good morning everyone!! I hope everyone is well!! And I hope you are staying warm! :)  Let's see.. what have I been up to? Well... I made it a goal this year to work on my Etsy shop... to REALLY work on my Etsy shop. That is exactly what I have been doing. I have been trying to network and really get myself out there. I spend a bit of time on it each day and we will see how it goes! I've sold my first item.. yay!! :)  And I'm hoping that if I stick with it I will have a successful store.

We have started up the Open-Minded Challenges again, so that is another thing I've been working on. I've gotten all of the posts ready for the year for the most part. We just have to fill in a bit here and there. The team is amazing! It has been a joy to see everyone joining back in and the new members that have found us!

Next, I've been working on crafting! I have a handful of cards finished, but I took my time getting photos done. Last night I managed to do that and I'm going to post my first Valentine's make today. I've made a nice set of five mini cards. I've made three sets of those. I'll post them one at a time :)

It has been a roller coaster of weather here in Georgia. We got some sleet yesterday afternoon; no snow here. My oldest daughter is more north and she did get some snow up in the mountains. We are supposed to get another round of it on Friday afternoon I guess. I would LOVE to have some snow! I love snow and I love the cold! Although... if you live in Georgia the whole city comes to a standstill with just a 1/4 of a 1/4 of an inch of snow LOL  Really, the problem is that everything freezes here and you not only have snow, but you end up with a thick layer of ice on everything and ice is just treacherous. We don't have the equipment to handle it and people definitely don't know how to drive on anything cold down here... not snow, now even rain and certainly not ice LOL

Here is my first Valentine's card!!

This is my first little 3 x 3 Valentine Card! I've used "I Chews You!" from Drawn With Character. I've colored this awesome image with my Copic Markers. I've done a small amount of layering on it. I covered the gumballs with some clear Wink of Stella to give them a bit of a shine. On top of those I've covered the glass part with Diamond Glaze. That piece is also layered up a level and curved to give it a dimensional look to it. I've done a bit of dry embossing on the red card stock inside and out. I've  also distressed the edges of the pattered paper. I "Chews" You! was printed and I used a die cut to cut it out. I inked the edges of the white with red ink. I've added a couple of gems as well. This is the first card in my set of five. There are five different cards in the set and I've made three sets. I hope you like!!

Copic Markers Used:
  • I'll be back later to put this in! I left my list at home

Christmas Gift #2 for My Sister

Happy Thursday everyone!!  This is the kids last week of school before the holiday break. They are out early today and Friday because of Final Exams. Then Bailey will be headed off to California on Christmas Eve morning. I'm so sad she is leaving me at Christmas.. it really stinks!!  We are thinking of opening gifts the day before Christmas Eve so that we can do it with her. We will keep talking about it and see. Maybe we just let her open hers? I just don't know. Maybe I should just make her wait until she gets back! LOL  I can't decide.

Tomorrow I am working from home.. I have so much to do. I have a lot to try and get done before next Wednesday so that none of the bills are past due. So, I'll be busy at work tomorrow. Friday night I am having dinner with my previous boss. She was the best boss. I'm so happy to get to see her.. really looking forward to it! Other than that, this weekend I will be coloring, creating and working on Christmas gifts. I have a lot to do in the next week!

Okay... on to today's project to share with you:

This is a Jim Holtz idea-ology Assesmblage Clock. This is also another gift for my sister. My sister has really gotten into Scuba Diving. She has gotten certified and traveled to different places to dive. So, I thought of her for this. I wanted to give it an under the sea theme with a Scuba Diver. I painted the clock that blueish color. I've added netting and shells and sand dollars and starfish to the outside. I added the charm hanging off a bit of chain. At the bottom of the inside I have added sand. All of the other pieces are made out of clay. I made porcelain clay and used my acrylic paints to color it. I had so much fun with this clay! I've asked for some tools to help me create some other things. I even made a little pendant for my youngest with her favorite bands emblem. Okay... back to the clock! I've colored up some fish and sea creatures with my copic markers. Some of them are found from the web and others are from Drawn With Character. The background and Scuba Diver are from The Paper Shelter. I also used some Diamond Glaze to add bubbles and to cover the mask of the Divers helmet. I had a lot of fun making this. I think I could have done more, but not too bad for a first try I guess! I hope she likes it :)
