Whiff of Joy August Post 1.

Good morning everyone! Today I am sharing a new Whiff of Joy creation. This is my first Whiff of Joy post for August. Can you believe it is August? Wow! Christmas sure is coming up fast .. Yikes! And the kids are back in school! I can't believe how fast the year is flying by. I think it goes by faster the older I get LOL!!

Alright.. here is my creation:

This is Helmsman Henry. Isn't he adorable!! I colored him up with my Copic Markers. I did a bit of decoupage. I added stitching around the edge and then stitching along the edge of the photo where the banners are. I added the banners with the different papers from this wonderful Carta Bella Ahoy There paper pad.  I created the Thanks for guiding me through the rough seas sentiment and I've added some sequin. The inside has the die cut piece which was cut with my Cameo and a few sequin on the inside as well. That's it! I hope you love Henry as much as I do :)

I have a couple of more weeks to go. I really appreciate the opportunity!  This week the theme for Challenge #204 is Take Us On Vacation:

For this challenge I used Beach Baby from The Stamping Boutique.I colored her with my Copic markers. I did a bit of decoupage to her. I popped her and the sandcastle. I used chalk on the sky. I created the sentiment myself and added the gems. I also added the banners and the little bucket, ball and sandals. I also added gems to the inside to finish it off. I thought it worked alright for a nice Summery Birthday!

Anything Goes @ One Stitch At A Time

Good morning everyone!! I can't believe it is Sunday already. This weekend has just flown by. Where has it gone. Yesterday I upgraded my cell phone and got the Samsung Galaxy 4. I have been using the Galaxy 2. I gave the 2 to Kevin... he had been using my first one LOL, the original. He gets my hand me downs. LOL It worked out really well though! Last week my phone started acting all weird. It was getting all hung up and I had to pull the battery out of it every time I did a couple of things. So, I took it back to Best Buy where I had the warranty. They sent a new phone to us, so Kevin has a new phone too. After that we went and saw a movie, Now You See Me. The kids went to see it on Friday since they did a great job getting their things done this week.

This week at One Stitch At A Time we have Anything Goes. I had some awesome digital papers to use from Panda Bear Designs - Doodle Boys Paper Pack. All of the papers are from this digital pack except for the black base card and the one strip of black that I embossed. They are all really great papers to use for a masculine card and I love how it turned out!! Here is my card:

Great papers aren't they? The brown background is one and for each banner I used different papers. I used those same papers on the inside too.  I colored the image with Copic. I inked around the sentiment with Tea Dye Distress Ink. I added a little bit of glitter. I popped/decoupaged parts of the images and I embossed the strip of black on the front with a Spellbinders embossing folder. The images were hand drawn by my wonderful husband. I took them and tubed them, made the lines darker in Paint Shop and there you have it. The sentiment was made by me.

Copic:

Challenge #62 at Tammy's Scrapin Corner

Good morning everyone! Can you believe the weekend is already over? Where does it go! I'll be off to work soon. Today I am taking an Advanced Microsoft Word class. Hopefully I will learn some new tricks :) Other than that, nothing special going on this week.

For Mother's Day I spent the day taking care of my sick husband. It was still a good day and by the evening he was feeling much better. At least he is on the mend!

I hope you all have a fantastic week ahead!!

Now, welcome to Challenge #62 at Tammy's Scrapin Corner ;) Here is my creation for our Ribbon and Lace challenge!

For this card I used all scraps. These scraps have been in my box for a while and I thought they would go perfect with my dragon! I also used some old ribbon that I had and the lace is a new purchase from Joann's. I used my corner punch on the black square, but only on 3 of the 4 corners. I distressed the edges of both of the banners. The lettering is two different Sizzlits (Graffiti and Girls Are Weird). The awesome image is from A Day For Daisies - Dragon Ride and I colored it with Copic. I also used some black puff paint and added small black dots onto him. Hmmm... I think that is everything. I decoupaged/popped the girl and the front wing.

Copic:
Dragon - T7, T9, YR15, YR16, YR18, Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17
Dress - RV23, RV25, RV29
Hair: E50, Y21, Y26, Y28

Good and Happy April Fool's Morning everyone!! It's Monday morning again!! Today our theme over at Tammy's Scrapin Corner is April Fool, Funny Birthday Card. Here is my card for this challenge:

I used "Rocks" from SK Digis!! Such a great image.. and so much you can use it with.. You are my Rock, Rock of Ages, You Rock My World LOL I love it!  So I used Happy Birthday 49 and on the inside... You are just a Stones throw away from 50! LOL I thought it was fitting and humorous so I went with it! I colored the image with Copic. I also used walnut stain Distress Ink, Twine, Colorbox Green Ink and twine. I used a Spellbinders embossing folder too. The smaller rocks and the eyes are all popped up to give dimension. You can get the sentiment at Sentimental Susan. Under the sentiment I put a small piece of cheesecloth.

Top Tip:  Use dots with your Copic to add texture to your images.

    Copic:
    C00, C1, C2, C3, C5, C6
    YG03, YG06, YG09

I can't wait to see what you all come up with for our April Fools, Funny Birthday Theme!! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter yesterday. Church was great and I'm thinking I will get a CD copy and send it to Kevin's Aunt. That way she can see where we are going to church. It was a good sermon too. I also bought a couple of postcards to send to his Aunt and his Dad.

It was a good weekend... never long enough!! I'll be off to work soon. I hope everyone has a great week!!

    Tammy's Scrapin Corner Challenge #53

Happy Monday everyone!! The weekend goes by way too fast. I think we should work 2 days and be off 5 LOL Especially when you are sick and then you feel like you didn't even have a weekend! I felt pretty icky yesterday. I was up and in bed and up again. I have a hard time just laying in bed. It was a beautiful day too.. It would have been nice to have been well.

Taylor and her boyfriends stayed the night on Saturday. He was on the couch and Taylor in with her sister. His name is Christian. I really did like him... he seems like a really nice boy. All I can hope is that I raised her well. I pray for her.

Bailey did say to Kevin... how rude of them! They came and stayed, made a huge mess and then left. Taylor does that every time that she comes. It is really frustrating for all of us!

Well... off to start my work week. I have a birthday in a few days. I hope I feel better!!

Okay, on to this week's challenge at Tammys Scrapin Corner.  We have Challenge #53 - Include A Shamrock. Here is my card:

I used a SKDigis Image - Lucky Pot of Gold. Awesome image isn't it!! I used Copic to color the image. The Irish Pride is from Karen Foster paper. The patterened paper is Karen Foster and the cardstock is Bazzill. I used a circle die cut from Spellbinders. I used the clover buttons and I added stitching onto the card. I also added a little bit of green Stickles to the clovers on the image. I distressed a lot of the edges of the paper. I guess that is it!

    Copic:
    Clover: G17, G19, G20, G29
    Cauldron: 100, C3, C5, C7, C9
    Gold: W3, Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17, YR23

Copic: I rushed to get this done today and failed to write down my colors. Sorry everyone!

Some of the paper was scrap paper. The purple patterned paper was Graphic 45 Happy Haunting Collection, the other paper was Canvas Corp - Spooky Diamonds on Ivory and Spooky Words on White. The bats and the Spider Webs are from Personalized by You - Bats Metal Accents and Jeweled Halloween Spiderwebs. The "Boo" was cut from the Spooky Words paper. I popped the cat a bit for dimension.. hopefully you can make out some of it. I popped the front and back arm/legs on this side of the broom. I popped the broom a couple of times. The head is popped a couple of times as well and the hat once.. the buckle on the hat one extra.
