One more Gift

Hi everyone!! And a very happy Monday! I just need to get through Monday and Tuesday!! Then I'm taking off until the 4th of January. I'll still have to do a little bit of work, but for the most part I'm off! and home!! :D  So I'm very excited about that LOL I have gotten zero coloring done this past weekend, so I'm looking forward to that! What else?  My youngest daughter got in trouble again this weekend. Big time!! And it was with the same girl that she got grounded for a week before. So now, she isn't allowed to ever see that person again! Although, I think she realizes that is a smart choice herself. Other than that it was a pretty good weekend.

So, I'm off to work.. Have a great week everyone!! Here is what I'm sharing today. The first two are the before photos:

So, these are the before photos. I can't believe I actually managed to take photos before I started altering them!! LOL I picked these up at the Goodwill around the corner. As you can see, they are just plain black little lanterns. I thought I would try to alter them and come up with something that my mother might like. So, I've altered these to give to my mother as a Christmas Gift. Here is how they turned out:

So, to start I painted these in a Hammertone Bronze paint. Then I took the silver rub and made the center metal all silver. I added some string of pearls to the edge of the roof of the lantern and to the very top of the lantern. I added some lace on the top of the lantern too. I've added lots of different flowers around the lantern and a few buttons as well. I took those vines and wrapped them up the stand leaving some to drape down over the top. I also added that butterfly at the top of each one. It surprises me how much it brightened it up by adding the bronze paint. I love how they turned out. I hope my mother will like them! Oh! And I added two battery operated tea lights for her too :)  No fire in these lanterns!

A Gift For My Oldest Daughter

Happy Sunday everyone! It is just about time to go back to work! It comes way too quickly. I've wanted to color all weekend but I have yet to color! I have finished up Christmas gifts though. I finished this one which I giving to my oldest daughter. Although.. I did change it a bit. I added some silver to the bottom of the glass. It looks really nice! I have also added a nice red bow to the stem as well.

Here is my project to share today:

The wine glasses I got for $1 and the candles were $1. I had the snow from winters past LOL  And then I went to the yard and got the pine cones. I painted them with white paint on the tips. For the bottom I used some silver thick cardstock. Then, as I said above.. I have since added silver to the bottom of the glass... or the top of the candle holder :)  That it all silver now. I added a nice red bow to the stem to add that bit of color and that is it.

DT Day at Meljen's Designs

Good morning everyone and Happy Tuesday :)  I get to share something with you today and it has to be Any thing But A Card for my DT Day at Meljen's Designs!! I decided to try my hand at a candle. I have been seeing candles done and have read about them, but I needed the extra push to actually try it I think! So, I dug out my Copic and colored this awesome little guy, "Sweet Little Foxy". I put the image on tissue paper and colored it with my Copic with a piece of paper underneath... major bleed through with tissue paper no doubt! I cut around the image and put it on the candle. Then I covered that with wax/parchment paper and heated with my heat gun. Dont' stay in one spot though, because your candle WILL melt!  Here is my first try at a candle...

Not too bad for a first try :)  I think I will definitely try again. I also think a white candle would have been better and I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for some good priced candles! I hope you enjoy and I hope you will try it out for yourself!  One thing though... if you try it, I want to see it!!! LOL :)  Have a great day everyone!!
