One more Gift

Hi everyone!! And a very happy Monday! I just need to get through Monday and Tuesday!! Then I'm taking off until the 4th of January. I'll still have to do a little bit of work, but for the most part I'm off! and home!! :D  So I'm very excited about that LOL I have gotten zero coloring done this past weekend, so I'm looking forward to that! What else?  My youngest daughter got in trouble again this weekend. Big time!! And it was with the same girl that she got grounded for a week before. So now, she isn't allowed to ever see that person again! Although, I think she realizes that is a smart choice herself. Other than that it was a pretty good weekend.

So, I'm off to work.. Have a great week everyone!! Here is what I'm sharing today. The first two are the before photos:

So, these are the before photos. I can't believe I actually managed to take photos before I started altering them!! LOL I picked these up at the Goodwill around the corner. As you can see, they are just plain black little lanterns. I thought I would try to alter them and come up with something that my mother might like. So, I've altered these to give to my mother as a Christmas Gift. Here is how they turned out:

So, to start I painted these in a Hammertone Bronze paint. Then I took the silver rub and made the center metal all silver. I added some string of pearls to the edge of the roof of the lantern and to the very top of the lantern. I added some lace on the top of the lantern too. I've added lots of different flowers around the lantern and a few buttons as well. I took those vines and wrapped them up the stand leaving some to drape down over the top. I also added that butterfly at the top of each one. It surprises me how much it brightened it up by adding the bronze paint. I love how they turned out. I hope my mother will like them! Oh! And I added two battery operated tea lights for her too :)  No fire in these lanterns!

You did such an awesome job making this lantern look even prettier. I am amazed at your creativity. I'm sure your mother loved them. So delighted you blessed us with your project during our two-week Challenge at Word Art Wednesday. This week's Challenge is still ongoing and I hope you’ll join us again. Leaving you with God’s Word in 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 which says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:” Have an awesome New Year!
