Orange and Green Winter Box*

Good morning! And a very happy Thursday!!  Two more to days to go before the weekend!! Woohoo!! LOL  Yesterday I was working from home. That is always a nice change. I had some conference calls and it's nice and quiet at home.

Yesterday I also worked on the Open-Minded Crafting Fun Blog. I made a HUGE error!  Yep... my bad!! Ooops!!  I was cleaning up the blog getting ready for our new start at the beginning of the year. We are going to switch over to a monthly challenge and our first challenge will be on January 10th. Well ... as I was cleaning up I managed to delete ALL of the posts on the blog! I was trying to clean up the first year and part of last year, but nope... I deleted them all!! I couldn't believe it! Thankfully I had already saved the Design Team favorites.. but my gosh!! What the heck did I do!  Well, my BIG mistake! And I'm so sorry to everyone for that, but it is done and I can't fix it now. I should have waited to clean up. But there is a lot to do and I wanted to go ahead and do what I could :)  I hope everyone will join in on the Monthly Challenges once they start up!! We will still have the DT Favorites as well. Alright.. time to move on to my creation for today :)  This is a box I recycled and recreated!

Let's take a look at my box.. this is before I altered it:

It started out as a Samsung Box from the last phone we updated - Mine! I love my Samsungs! Kevin gave it to me and said I should decorate it. I have to admit, he was definitely correct. This is a great box! It just needed to be updated a bit. And here it is altered into something new:

For this box I started with the image, Hipster Girl in Snow, from SLS Lines Digital Stamps. I just adore this girl! I colored her with Copic Markers and then I layered her several layers. I added some glitter to her cuffs and hat to give it that furry look. I also added some Snow Marker to make the snowflakes falling. I took the box and cut paper to go on the box. I did green for the bottom and orange for the top. Then I did three layers of Matte Finish Gesso over the paper. I added the white snowflace corners and the snowflake borders on the sides. I added some gems to add some sparkle and I created the saying to go next to the girl. And I think that is it!

Copic Markers Used:
  • Outfit Orange: YR04, YR09, R89
  • Outfit Green: YG11, YG13, YG17
  • Black Shoes: W3, W5, W7, W9
  • Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, E13
  • Eyes: Y00, Y18, Y26
  • Lips and Hat Ears: R20, R22, R24

Mi Ran Image of Myself and My Dog T-Bone.

Good morning! We are at the halfway point of the week!  Yippee!! And I am working from home today. I have to drop the dogs off at the vet's office so they can get their middle of the year check ups. We will drop them off in the morning. I think I'm going to have to run some pagers around too. We will see how that works out. I hope you all are having a great week so far!

I love this image. It was created by Mi Ran when she started getting into the crafting world. I have had it colored for quite some time and just wasn't sure what I was going to use it for. Here is what became of that image:

The image was colored with Copic Markers. I've added some ribbon and a charm. There are several die cuts added, the leaves, the squares and the little flower is actually a negative from a die cut. I added a gem right to the center of that flower. I also added a small doily under one of the die cuts. Then the pennant was added with a stamped "Thinking of You". The yellow background is embossed with dots.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Hair: E21, E97, E99, E59, E39
  • Eyes: E25, E39, E59
  • Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11
  • TBone: E95, E97, E99
  • Mouth: R59, R89
  • Shirt: G12, G14, G17, G19
  • Paw Prints: T1, T3, T5, T7, T9
  • Background: Y11, Y15, Y19; YR23, YR24, Y38

Blessings Dragon.

Good morning everyone! I was so stressed out yesterday with two meetings. I was so afraid that the big boss would try to change my hours, try to make me do way more than I could handle, but it all worked out okay. I was really honest with all of the management that they would have to patient and it all worked out okay. So, it was a pretty good day! I did get a bunch accomplished, but not as much as I would have liked. I'm hoping to make up for that today :)  I hope you all had a great start to your week!

The kids started school yesterday. It was Bailey's first day as a High School Freshman. She seemed to have a great day. One of her teachers seems really boring LOL but the rest seem to be alright. I think she is going to have a great year. And when they start conditioning for Lacrosse she will get to know her teammates and I think it will be really great for her. Michael seemed to like all of his teachers okay too. So, I'm hoping he will have a good year too. We just have to get through math, but that won't be until the second semester. I was going to see if I could get that changed, but then I decided to just let it be.

Okay.. on to today's card:

For this card I used Wee Stamps adorable . I added a bit of Stickles to the blue on his wings. I added some paint for the centers of the flowers. I added some dew drops and White Glitter Tape Ribbon. I stitched a big circle behind everything so that you could see parts of it around the image. The papers are all scraps. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches. The image was colored with Copic Markers, but it is one of those images that has been just sitting there waiting for ages to be used. I can't remember which markers I've used on this one.

Turkey Thanks.

Good morning! I can't believe it's Monday already! It doesn't feel like I've had the extra days off! *cry* And now it's time to head back into the stress. I hope the VP finds a new assistant soon, because I can not do both jobs! Okay.. enough of my whining! It was a good weekend.. a relaxing four days. I was able to get all of the colored images into cards. What more could I ask for? It was a good weekend! We had plans to go out of town, but none of us was really feeling up to it! Now I just need to get all of the posts ready and figure out what to color next :) On the card for today!

Today I'm sharing my Turkey Thanks:

This is all colored with my Prismacolor Pencils. This little turkey is from Digital Delights. I just love this turkey! I have layered him a bit also. I love this Turkey! I used all scraps for this. And I even found this brown paper that the Let's Talk Turkey was cut out of. I decided to use the negative on this card.. .I thought it was very fitting! I added the cut doily to the top and I also added the other half to the inside. I added the twine and button to finish it off. The 'Thanks' was stamped onto the sign.

You're Purrr-fect!!.

Good morning! And a very happy, blessed Sunday to you all! We didn't really do too much yesterday. My father-in-law has a hip that is acting up and my husband twisted his back a bit and he has been hurting. So, we stayed home today and relaxed. The only time we went out was to get a new graphics card for hubby and to take and pick up my son from work. I did cook today.. which is rare! LOL I really don't enjoy cooking! But I put a roast into the slow cooker, added some celery, onions, potatoes and carrots and a bag of onion soup mix and let it cook all day. That was dinner and it was really nice.

I did sign my youngest up for her Fall Season of Lacrosse. She will be with the girls from Allatoona High School playing for HotLanta. She is excited :)  Then in the Spring she will get to play with the actual Hig School Team. She loves it and she is a pretty good goalie :)  I love watching her play and cheering her on! Okay.. enough of that stuff :)  On to the card for today!

I love cats! And this little guy is a cutie! I have made another card with him, but had this other image just sitting there waiting to be used. This is what I came up with this time:

This is all black and white. I have added several different embossing patterns onto this card. Each strip of black has its own design on it. The little kitty is colored with Copic Markers. The sentiment is stamped with white. The stamp is from Paper Smooches. I love their sentiments! This is another image that has been colored in a box just waiting to be pulled out and made into something. My stamp got all smeary :p  Oh well... you can definitely tell it is hand made LOL! With flaws!  I always have a hard time with the white ink for some reason!

Same Image; Different Birthday Card.

Good morning! It is Saturday morning and we had plans to travel, but we just don't feel up to it. So, we are going to hang around the house. I'm going to cook a pot roast and I'll craft. The boys (hubby and father in law) will read and play and do whatever they do LOL  Bailey will do her stuff.. getting ready for school to start on Monday and Michael will go to work! That is it... Here's to a hopefully relaxing day.

This is the same image you saw a few days ago. I used almost the same papers and created a different birthday card this one:

This one is also colored with pencil and layered. I added some gems to this one and some stitching across the middle. I used almost the same papers and just made it a completely different card. Still a birthday card though!
