GDT at Creaine - Embroidered Cards*

Good morning everyone! And a very happy Thursday :D  We are so close to the end of the week! I finally received the schedule for Bailey's Lacrosse Tournament this weekend. She plays four games on Saturday and then five games on Sunday. I think Kevin is going to go for a ride in North Georgia while we are away. I'm going to pick up Bailey's boyfriend on the way, so he can hang out for her games. I've invited my mother and sister to come see her if they would like. Work... well... it has been a busy week, but I feel like I have gotten a lot done. I'm going to try to finish up a bunch today and then I'll work from home on Friday. Okay.. enough of all of that! Off to work! I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

So, I was asked to be a Guest Designer at Creaine for October and I was thrilled to be offered the chance and excited to try something new!! This challenge is to Embroider on your card. I have never tried Embroidery, so this was definitely a challenge and I was really excited to try something new!!  Here is what I came up with:

On this card I used Squirrel from Bugaboo Stamps and colored this image with my Copic Markers. I did a bit of layering on this image and added some Diamond Glaze to the nut. I actually purchased this embroidery pattern from someone on Etsy. It is a maple leaf with the wind pattern behind it. The wind is done in a very light blue that is shiny. The leaf is done in a thread that is red, brown and orange. I thought it was perfect for the leaf! I added a bit of ribbon at the top with that hand done bow. I stamped the "Wishing you a harvest of good things!" on the front also. The edges of the kraft are all inked with Sepia. On the inside I also inked the edges and used a nut stamp on one side and a little squirrl on the other only partially stamping those. Then I stamped "...from one nut to another!" on the inside as well.

Thank you Creaine, for the invite to be your Guest Designer. I am truly honored!! Thank you for such a great challenge! It was more simple than I thought it would be, but time consuming. The overall effect is so beautiful though! It is worth the time!!  :)

Copic Markers Used:
  • Squirrel: C1, C3, C5, C7, C9
  • Nut: E33, E35, E37
  • Nut Top: E55, E57, E59
  • Ladybug: R24, R27, R35
