Happy Father's Day Box Card

Good morning everyone!! It is only Tuesday and it has been one heck of a week so far LOL!!!  I keep telling myself if can only get better, it can only get better, it can only get better! HAHA!  And the Lord only gives me what I can handle! So I can persist, carry on and do my best :) And that is all I can do!

So, here is a card I finished up this weekend:

For this card I've used All Tied Up from QKR Stampede. He is colored with Copic Markers and layered a bit. All of the cuts are done using the Silhouette Cameo. I've used black and brown card stock and a bit of striped patterned paper scraps for those stars. Even the Happy Father's Day is a bit tan, although it looks white on here. I've inked all of the papers too with black ink. I've added some brown glitter to the Father's insert. I love how the back of the card is decorated and cut to allow for writing. I thought that was just perfect! And that is it... simple card, but a box card. Thanks for looking!

Copic Markers Used:
  • Bear: E31, E35, E37, E39
  • Checkered Tie: Y00, Y11, Y15
  • Light Blue Tie: B0000, B000, B00, B02
  • Dark Blue Tie: B26, B29, B39

Good morning and a very happy Sunday!! It has been a good weekend, but I can't believe it is over already! Watched the hockey game last night, did a bit of crafting this weekend. Bailey has Lacrosse practice.. lots of racing this weekend. That's it.. a good weekend .. I hope you all had a great weekend too!

Sad news in our MotoGP racing though... RIP Luis Salom who crashed in the Moto2 practice session and has sadly passed away. He was an amazing talent on the bikes. He will be missed.

Today I wanted to share another sympathy card with you .. fitting:

For this one I have used another Delicious Doodles image - Poppy and Butterfly Border. I've also used Poppy Paper from Delicious Doodles. I've colored everything with Copic Markers and I've done a bit of layering of the images as well. The cloud paper in the frame is from a scrap piece of paper. I added some gems, a ribbon and a deepest sympathy stamp. I also added some of the Poppy Paper and some gems on the inside to help tie it all together.

In Memory Poppies Easel

Good evening everyone!!  I hope you are all well!!  Just life happening here.Work has been a real challenge lately and that will continue. I'm just doing what I can and the best I can and that is all I can do. So that is that! haha!! I have been trying to spend my weekends and evenings crafting. Sometimes that works and other times it just doesn't. Like last night... hubby wanted to watch a movie with me .. Risen. He wanted me to spend time with him hehehe!!  So, I turned off the pc... gave up on crafting last night and just spent time with him and watching the movie. The movie was really great too.

What else.. the kids have been out of school for a bit. I took Michael up to Dahlonega to stay with Taylor, my oldest daughter, for the summer. My youngest just goes out every day all day!! To the pool, to friends houses. She doesn't ever want to be home.

And that is what is going on in the Kennedy household right now. I'm watching The Stanley Cup Finals and rooting on the Pittsburgh Penguins. And they are up by two games... woohoo! I have always been taken with goalies.. and right now I am loving Matt Murray. He is a rookie goalie for the Penguins and I just think he is magnificent! He will have a great career ahead of him. So... that is who I am rooting for! I hope he takes it home. Although I was really surprised that they started Murray since their goalie is healed, healthy and ready to play. I love hockey! And I'm enjoying watching them play!

Okay.. enough of my rambling.. Onto my card for today:

I have used a Delicious Doodles image - Remembrance. I colored the image with my Prismacolor Pencils. I then cut around it with a My Favorite Things die. The background was done using pastels. I have done a bit of layering on the image as well. I decided to create an easel card with this image. All of the pieces were cut using the Silhouette Cameo. I have managed to use a host of scrap papers for this! I am still trying to get rid of some of my scraps! I've used a bit of ink around the kraft pieces and the light blue paper. I also added some large black pearls to the top of the easel where the image resides. I added the poppy flowers at the bottom and also added a "deepest Sympathy" stamp at the bottom. There are also a couple of the large black pearls added to the bottom to tie it all in.

Bucs Matching Card

Good morning everyone.. Happy Wednesday!!  Today I am going to share the matching card that went with the altered canvas that Bailey and I gave to her Lacrosse coach this year. Again, these amazing images were commissioned from YamPuff and she was AMAZING! at creating these. I absolutely LOVE them and so does Bailey :D

So here is the matching card:

For this card I decided on a Stepper. I colored the two images with my Copic markers. I kept with the black, white and red theme of the team. The team is the Allatoona Buccaneers, so I cut the card base, all the paper layers, the flag and the skeleton with the Silhouette. I embossed the red paper behind them. I also cut the A with the Silhouette and added glitter for the black on the A. The Thank You is cut using Sizzlits alphabet. I used some Copic makers to add a bit of detailign to the skeleton pirate. The girls were all colored with Copic and then fussy cut with a small white border around them. I also decorated the inside and had all the girls sign the card before we gave it to her.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
  • Shorts and Socks: C03, C05, C07, C09

Thank you so much for your amazing sponsorship's this year!!  We can't express how appreciative we are to all of you!! And here is my card creation for this challenge:

For this one I have used The Little Dragonfly from Julia Spiri Stamps. I have no idea where I picked up this awesome flower scene. It is just loaded with tulips. When I saw it I thought it would be perfect to put her flying above them. I colored everything with my Copic markers. I have used a couple of die cuts and everything is done with scraps. I also added the ribbon, the small pearls on the butterfly and the small star gems that I purchased from Etsy. I have done a bit of image layering on this and there is my favorite technique... well one of them! I love decoupage, layering my images. I also love coloring with Copics, die cuts and creating backgrounds with Distress Ink. I have also used some Copic Opaque White on her hair.

Yam Puff Lacrosse

Good morning everyone!! And a very happy Monday!!  Is that possible?  Happy Monday?? haha!! Monday really comes all too quickly!!  And now it is time to go back to the working grind for the week... Yuck! But that is what it is!! I hope you all had a nice weekend though.

A while back I was looking around and then asking around for who could create a digital image for Lacrosse. I have a Lacrosse player... my youngest daughter Bailey is a Goalie. I wanted a girl lacrosse player and a girl lacrosse goalie. I searched and searched and just couldn't find a digital image anywhere. Then I went to Kit and Clowder and started asking who would do images. And then Alyce mentioned Yam Puff!! Duh!! I knew that! So I reached out to her and asked her about a commission. I paid for the two images and I've been waiting while she gets her orders completed. Then one day .. she sends me the images she has been working on. I'm floored!! They are perfect. And now I have them completed!!  They are so wonderful!!  If you ever want a commissioned piece of work.. definitely go for Yam Puff!! She was so easy to work with and she gave me just what I wanted. Not to mention her art is ADORABLE!!  I knew I would make use of these.. for the girls, the coaches, etc for at least the next four years! And then there is college .. so I am super excited!! And I went to work on using them for the first time. I made an altered canvas which I framed in an altered frame. And then I also made a matching card, which I'll post in a couple of days. First comes the canvas:

I created this for the coach. I figured she could hang it in her room or something. The two images are from the most wonderful YamPuff!! And they were both commissioned. Thank you Thank you!! for these awesome images!! If you haven't guessed, her High School team is  the Allatoona Bucs or Buccaneers. The frame started out this awful wood. It was a dark brown wood and it wasn't very attractive. I purchased it from Goodwill. I painted it black and then I splattered white and red on it. Their colors are of course red, black and white HAHA!!  Just in case you didn't get that! ;)  I altered a bottle cap and added Coach Carmichael to that and put that on the corner. I wanted to personalize it for her. I took the canvas and painted it a lighter gray and then splattered it with black, white and red. I cut that A in the middle out with the Silhouette and then I colored it in. I also cut the "Allatoona Bucs Lacrosse" out with the Silhouette. The two girls are colored with my Copic markers. I fussy cut them with a little white border around them. I really love that look. And that's it! I had a lot of fun creating it and she really seemed to like it. I gave it to her at the dinner we had to celebrate the team. See you in a couple of days to share the card that went with it. I'm not going to post that tomorrow as I'll be posting the Open-Minded Crafting May Challenge that day ;)
