Super Mom You Are Appreciated

Good morning! I hope you all have had a great week. Bailey and I went to the Varsity Girls Lacrosse game last night to show our support. They had a great game and added another win to their year. I believe they only have two games left.

Tonight we are going to the Kennesaw University Girls Lacrosse game. I'm hoping they can get another win too! It is really fun to watch them play! I keep trying to get the team to go, but they aren't joining us, so I will keep trying. I really think they would all enjoy it. The Atlanta Blaze actually play their season opener on Saturday. I think we are not going to be making that game though. I'm really excited to have them here though! How fun! Major League Lacrosse team right in our backyard! :D  Let's see... and then there is Sunday and that will be church and then Bailey has Khaos Lacrosse practice.

Our plans this weekend are to bleach and repaint our front porch! We have a bit of mildew growing, so we think it is time to clean it up and repaint. Bailey has been told that she can't go anywhere and can't have friends over this weekend so she can pitch in. She is a little High School social lite! and wants to always be doing something!!  So, that is the weekend! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and get some crafting done.. I'm hoping to get a little bit done myself!

For this Appreciation/Mother's Day card, I've chosen to use the awesome Super Mom from KennyK Stamps. I love her!! I've used some scrap patterned papers that I had. I think I've used up all that spotted paper, which I love! I've inked the edges of the papers. I've added some twine and a charm. The die cut around the image is a My Favorite Things. I've stamped the sentiment on the front. On the inside I have used the same papers inked around the edges. I did a small amount of popping on this image... just her arm. I've colored her with Copic Markers.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Skin: E000, e00, E21, E11, E04, R20
  • Skirt, Shoes and Red on Dress: R20, R22, R24, R29, E99
  • Blouse: BG70, BG72, BG75

Mother's Day Dragon Card

Good morning everyone! And a very Happy Wednesday to you!! I am working from home today!! And then tomorrow I am being recognized at work for 10 years. I can't believe I've been there for 10 years!! Thursday night is a Varsity Lacrosse game we are going to. Hmmm.. then on Friday I believe Kennesaw State Ladies Lacrosse is playing, so we will go see that as well. This weekend we are going to scrub the front porch and paint it. I think that is it?! It has been a busy week so far! I'm hoping to have a productive day at home today. I hope you all have a wonderful day too!! Be sure to hop over to Open-Minded Crafting Fun for the winners and DT Favorites post!

And now here is my next Mother's Day card that I put on Etsy:

I just love this image from The Paper Shelter! This is Best Day Of My Life. The image is fun, I love dragons! and I had a blast coloring this one! I colored this with Copic Markers and I've done a bit of layering. The background is also done with Copic Markers. The die cut around the image is from My Favorite Things. All of the papers are scraps I pulled out. I need to get back to using my scraps up! I did a bit of distressing and inked some papers. I've added a few pearls, some ribbon and some different flowers. I decorated the inside with the same papers, some more pearls and the same ribbon. I also added two different sentiment stamps.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Mom: RV00, RV21, RV23, RV25, RV29

My Sister Turns 50!

Good evening everyone!! Tomorrow my sister is turning the BIG 5-0!! I can't believe it!! She is an amazing woman, a great sister, a fantastic aunt and she has been through a lot.

She moved out of the house when I was young. She moved around the US a little bit, living in San Francisco, New York City and Atlanta. She went to college at night while she was working during the day. It took her a lot of years, but she got her degree in Computer Science and she has been in that field since I can remember. She has been employee, manager and Director. She has a house in Atlanta and she travels when she can. She learned to scuba dive last year and now she is enjoying scuba diving trips! She has always been there for me and gotten me out of more jams than I can remember! She has definitely been the successful one. I chose the family and kids route and I go to work and come home. I have never wanted to do more. I want to leave my work at work and then do my thing when I come home. And that is exactly how it works out most of the time :)  My sister is a career woman! My sister is also a survivor! She had breast cancer and fought her way through chemotherapy. Today she is a survivor and amazing! I'm proud to be her sister.

She doesn't read my blog, so I am posting her card here LOL I can't post it on Facebook until after she gets it, because she would see it there!  So here is what I came up with for her big birthday:

I've used an amazing image from Maria Medel Illustrations; this is Catrina and I thought she was going to be perfect for this card! Maria Medel Illustrations sponsored us over at Open-Minded Crafting Fun this month too! Be sure to see those creations :)  Awesome images! I printed her on kraft paper and colored her with my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils. I used a fun step card cut. I love the edges. I added some additional layer cuts, because I love layers! The oval die cut is from My Favorite Things. The card stock is scraps and the patterned paper is from a Halloween Stack that I have. I've added some a Poppy vine die cut as well. I've added some various flowers, a small gem/rhinestone on the skull at the bottom. I've added a bit of clear Wink of Stella on the image in some spots. There is a small amount of highlights using Copic Opaque White on the mirror and small black dots of puffy paint on the mirror frame. There are some different dew colored dew drops and some cheesecloth in behind the oval die cut. I created the sentiment and printed those out and placed them. I did decorate the inside as well. I just created those additional cuts to layer the inside as well. Then I added the little Rip headstone die cut with a brad on the inside to finish it off. All of this was cut with the Silhouette Cameo.

Mother Day In Blue

Good morning! I hope everyone is having a great week! It has been a busy week! Tonight is a night of Lacrosse games. I have to have dinner to the girls all set up by 3:15 pm. So, I'll be leaving a bit early to get there and get that set up. Then I can log back into work if need be. I'm also picking up one of Bailey's friends from church. She is homeschooled, so she doesn't get to do these things much. I'll pick her up and we will head to the school. I'm hoping the girls do alright tonight. I'm not sure how good this team is that they are playing. I know Bailey gets REALLY frustrated at the JV team.

Friday, I'm taking off to go to Dahlonega with Kevin. We are going to go by the High School up there. Michael is going to go stay with my oldest daughter and go to school up there next year. We are hoping that the change will help him. He really needs to get through this next year of school. I'm hoping Taylor can influence him a bit. We will see! Then Saturday we have a tournament all day. Here is to a busy weekend ahead!!

Cat Loving Mothers

Good morning! And a very happy Tuesday to everyone... although ... I thought it was Wednesday, which means a very long week for me ahead!  I hate that! This should be a pretty busy week too. Bailey has practice all week. They have a game on Thursday, which I need to bring food to feed the team. Then they have a tournament on Saturday. That will end their High School season for lacrosse. But then on Sunday it is right into the club lacrosse as Khaos will start their practices. Will be a busy week and weekend for sure!

Here is another Mother's Day card from me. I was lucky enough to already sell this one! I got it out in the mail yesterday :)

This one is for the cat loving mother :)

Yellow Mother's Day

Good morning everyone! Me again with another card. I'm working from home today. The kids are going with my sister later this morning. They are going to go to the Dogwood Festival I believe. This weekend should be a quiet weekend. We have MotoGP motorcycle races and I may go rent the Peanuts movie from Redbox. Other than that.. I'm hoping to color and craft and take it easy :) Have a great Friday everyone and a great rest of your weekend too! See you on Sunday for the next Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge!

So, yellow is not my favorite color, but this one went yellow. Here is one of my Mother's Day cards:

This image is from Delicious Doodles and was colored with my Prismacolor Pencils. I've used some different patterned papers and card stock and kraft papers. I splattered a bit of yellow paint. I distressed some of the papers edges. I did a bit of dry embossing and inked the top of the embossing on some kraft. I've added buttons and thread as well. The Mom is stamped, as is the Happy Mother's Day on the inside.
