Colorful Colorstock Creations at Meljen's Designs.

Happy Thursday everyone! It has been a busy week at work, a busy week at home and a busy crafting week. I'm so behind on everything it just seems like I barely get everything finished and I can't get caught up. Hopefully I can have some down time this weekend to get ahead or at least on track.

Monday is the first day of school! I can't believe it, although I think three months out of school is a bit long. A bit long for the kids to be sitting in their rooms at home. I'm glad they are heading back. Bailey tries out for the Junior Volleyball team on Sunday late afternoon. Michael is going tubing with the church youth group on Sunday and they both went bowling last night with the church youth group. It has been busy the last month or so!

And work... well... work is not a happy place. Everyone is on edge and unhappy and stressed. We have a VP that holds the managers jobs over there heads all the time. He runs them down in front of their colleagues. It is just a bad atmosphere right now. You can see the managers are just worn down and miserable. You can see it on their face and in their attitudes. It really makes for a bad atmosphere at work. Morale is way down in this office. It is sad.

Okay.. enough of my stuff LOL On to the fun stuff!  Today is a new challenge at Meljen's Designs. We are on Challenge #221 and the challenge is Colorful Cardstock.

I decided I wanted to make a cute little 4 set of Twinchies. So, they are 2 inches square, all summer timed themed, all made with scrap cardstock. I used several different images to create this cute little set. I used: Yummy Popsicle, Shaken Not Stirred, Summer Time Sandals and Summer Sun. I colored these all with my Copic markers and decoupaged just a bit of each. On the Yummy Popsicle I layered the orange and green cardstock and added hand drawn stitching with my white pen. I also did the same on the inside. I popped the orange Popsicle above the stick as well. For Shaken Not Stirred, I used light blue and green cardstock. I layered the glass the umbrella, the straw and the charm and I added Diamond Glaze to the glass to give it that shine of glass.  I added the threaded twine on the side and then on the opposite side I added the row of green gems.  For the inside I layered the cardstock and added a strip of twine to match the front. For the third card, Summer Time Sandals, I layered the top sandal and then the strap and flowers. I added a little bit of stickles to center of the flowers. I doodled around the edge of the card, added two additional flowers and a little bit of puff paint in the corners. I also added the red puff paint to the inside. The blue layer on the outside and the red layer on the inside also have a bit of distressing to their edges. For the final card using Summer Sun, I popped the center of the sun and then the glasses. I added a little bit of Diamond Glaze to the glass of the sunglasses and then I added the twine bow at the bottom. I distressed the outside yellow layer and the inside pink layer on this card. I also added a strip of matching twine to the inside of this card. There are no sentiments on these. I thought it would be a cute summer set that you could write anything on. So there you have it :)  That is what I came up with for my contribution to the Colorful Cardstock creations! I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Final Tuesday Throwdown Post.

Good morning and happy Tuesday! At least it isn't Monday! LOL  Today is my final post as the Guest Designer at Tuesday Throwdown. I want to thank Tuesday Throwdown for having me join them this month. It has been loads of fun! I have enjoyed it and appreciate the opportunity!!

Today they are hosting an Anything But A Card or Tag challenge. I had an image from Tiddly Inks that I have been wanting to use so I pulled it out and created a sign for my youngest daughters door. Here is what I came up with:

Sorry about the photos! The ones at an angle took better. I forgot to take photos before I taped it to her door. And its the tape that just doesn't come off LOL  I tried taking photos with no flash and the photos were dark even after I manipulated the camera settings to let in more light. At least you get the idea from an angle without too much glare. So, I started off with the label shape which I used my Cameo Silhouette to cut out of chipboard and then black paper. I glued the black paper and then I took the blue, yellow, pink, green and gold paint and splattered the black paper. I covered the edge of the sign with gold paint pen. The image, For The Birds, was colored with Prismacolor and Gamsol. I printed it twice and popped the paper they were holding. I wrote out BEWARE on those pieces of paper. I added the blue sparkly letters to spell out Bailey's. Those are Thickers. I cut the ROOM out with one of my sizzlits.. Graffiti. The bottom was white and the top black and then I splattered those letters the same as I did the background. I covered the whole thing with a couple of layers of clear glossy Gesso. She loves it, so that makes me happy :)

Winners and Midway Post at Open-Minded - Vacation Related.

Good morning everyone and Happy Weekend!!  It is going to be in the 90s today.. Hot! Yuck! Stay home in the air conditioner day LOL My youngest had a birthday on the 24th. We did a bit of celebrating on Thursday, got her hair done on Friday and she has a friend spending the night for the next two days. I think she has had a pretty good birthday! She is the big 1-3!!  Thirteen! A True teenager.. although the attitude has been there for a couple of years already LOL!!  I hope you all have a great weekend!

This morning is the winners post for Challenge #14 at Open-Minded Crafting Fun. At noon you can come back for the midway post to see more inspiration from the team! :)

Our sponsors for Challenge #15 - Vacation Related are:

Here is my creation for the midway post:

I made this little ATC using Ben On A Raft from Ike's Art!! Love this image! And he looks like he is ready for vacation doesn't he? LOL  I colored him with my Copic markers. I decoupaged the mast and his legs.  I decorated the background with white and blue liquid pearls. I stamped the Vacation with some white ink, but then I outlined parts of the letters with my white pen and drew random shapes to give it a sort of graffiti look. I added glitter around the edge and the twine towards the bottom. There is also hand doodled stitching around the edge, hard to see; you can see it better in person.

Whiff of Joy Nautical Release Post 2.

Good morning everyone! Today I wanted to post another card using the new release from Whiff of Joy. Here is what I came up with for my 2nd card:

The helm on the inside is a die cut using the Silhouette Cameo. I used twill on the side. The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy as well. I used black Pearl paint on the helm and brown glitter on the inside. I used brown chalk to add some detailing on the helm as well.

My July DT Day at Meljen's Designs!.

Good morning everyone :)  Me again.. three posts in one day! Sheesh!! LOL  So, for my last post today I am sharing Meljen's Designs. Today is my DT Day at Meljen's and for this one I created a card for this little boy:

He has an inoperable brain tumor and all he would like for his birthday coming up next week is a box of birthday cards. I hope his wish comes true! I hope he ends up with a bunch of amazing cards!!! You can read the store here at ABC News. I hope you all will join in as well!

Here is the card I created using Dirt Storm Monster Truck.

I colored this image with my Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I used a banner die cut for the Birthday Boy at the top. The letters are old Doodlebug rubons. The mud splats are Sizzix die cuts. I used chalk around the edges of the splats to add a bit of detail and dimension. I decoupaged the image.. I popped the card and the tires and the flag on the back. I hope he likes it!
